I Can Help Build Zion

In the Doctrine and Covenants, the Lord wanted the people to gather in one place so they could follow Him together (see Doctrine and Covenants 62:4). He called this Zion.

Zion means “the pure in heart.” That means anyone who does their best to follow Jesus Christ can help build Zion.

Today, we can build Zion wherever we live! We can build Zion in our families, wards, and branches as well as in our hearts. Prophets and apostles have taught that we build Zion when we work together and care for those in need.

Here are some ways you can help build Zion:

• Do family history work.

• Help a parent or sibling at home.

• Read your scriptures.

• Serve your neighbor.

• Say hi to someone new at school or church.

• Forgive someone.

• Pray for someone in need.

Part of building Zion includes building temples. Each time you do something to help build Zion, color in a space on the temple window.
