A Holy Place

My office is in the shadow of the Salt Lake Temple. As I look out the window, I see the words on the temple that say, “Holiness to the Lord: The House of the Lord.”
Those words are on every temple. “Holiness to the Lord” reminds us that we need to be worthy to go inside.
Being worthy means trying to do what the Lord would like us to do. Even at your young age, you can prepare to enter the temple someday.
You can prepare in simple ways. You can learn about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. You can pray. You can take the sacrament. You can keep the commandments. You can find names of ancestors who were never baptized so that someone can be baptized for them in the temple. You can try your best to be kind, to love those around you, to forgive, and to serve.
As you do these things, your heart becomes ready to enter the house of the Lord, a place of holiness.
