“The Swimmer,” Friend, June 1972, 23
One summer day, John, May, Ben, and Bob went with their father for a hike in the country. Someone who wasn’t invited joined them and went along. When they came to a pretty lake, they made a campfire to roast hot dogs and heat a can of beans. While they did this, the uninvited guest plunged into the lake and went for a swim. Then the visitor came out dripping and shivering. Everybody laughed, and the good-natured swimmer enjoyed the fun too.
To find the name of the uninvited guest that went swimming, cross out the letters that spell the children’s names and underline the letters that are left.
