After you’ve studied the scripture passages for this week and reviewed the questions and activities in the manual, consider sharing any of the following articles and activities with your family. These additional resources can assist you as you strive to teach the gospel in your home.

The Doctrine of Christ

In 2 Nephi 31–32, Nephi outlines in plainness the doctrine of Christ and the power it has to lead us to eternal life.

Articles

  • The Doctrine of Christ.” In this general conference address, Brother Brian K. Ashton, former Second Counselor in the Sunday School General Presidency, discusses how the doctrine of Christ allows us to access the spiritual power that will ultimately enable us to become perfected.

  • Line upon Line: 2 Nephi 31:19–20.” This New Era feature explains how we can stay steadfast and immovable as we press forward in the gospel.

  • Article of Faith 4.” Use this page from the Friend to help your children learn these fundamental aspects of the doctrine of Christ—faith, repentance, baptism, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost.

  • Ready to Be Baptized?” Since part of the doctrine of Christ includes being baptized, you can read this Friend story to your children to help them know what can help them feel ready.

Activities

  • Spiritual Stepping Stones.” Use this activity from the Ensign to encourage family members to follow Jesus Christ through faith, repentance, baptism, and so on.

  • Seeds of Faith.” Faith is one of the first principles in the doctrine of Christ. Use this activity from the Friend to show your children how their faith and testimony can grow little by little, like a seed.

  • The Doctrine of Christ.” Use this coloring page and maze (from the Church’s Scripture Stories Coloring Book series) to teach your children how the doctrine of Christ leads us back to Heavenly Father.

2 Nephi 31:17–20; 32

Enduring to the End

Nephi records the promise that those who endure to the end shall have eternal life. But what does it mean to endure to the end, and what does it look like?

Articles

  • Enduring to the End.” This Ensign article teaches that enduring to the end implies staying faithful to your covenants and staying loyal to Christ.

  • How to Endure to the End.” This excerpt from a talk by Elder L. Tom Perry (1922–2015) of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles explains why enduring to the end is not a “do-it-yourself project” and what sources you can turn to for help.

  • Patricia’s Courage.” In this Friend article, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles shares how his wife, Sister Patricia Holland, reminded him to have faith and not give up.

Activity

  • What’s on Your Mind?” This page from the Friend can help your children learn that enduring means being willing to try, even after you make a mistake.
