Using Media in the Home

“We need to make good media choices ourselves and set good examples for our children. … We need to take time to watch appropriate media with our children and discuss with them how to make choices that will uplift and build rather than degrade and destroy” (M. Russell Ballard, “Let Our Voices Be Heard,” Ensign, Nov. 2003).

We invite you to build and uplift your family by learning, sharing, and creating wholesome media experiences with the resources found in Gospel Media. Here are a few ideas to help you start thinking about ways you can use Gospel Media in your home:

  • Show an illustrated scripture story as an introduction to your family home evening lesson on a New Testament story.
  • Download inspirational music and create a CD or playlist to use for your children’s bedtime music.
  • Reinforce the doctrines you share with your teenager using a video clip of a General Authority’s testimony from general conference.

  • Submit photos of your family doing faith-strengthening activities using Helping in the Vineyard.
  • Plan an activity where members of your family express their testimony by creating a collage using images downloaded from Gospel Media.
  • Participate in a create.ChurchofJesusChrist.org contest by creating and submitting original photos and videos.
