What’s a Resurrected Body Like, Exactly?

07/13/20 | 1 min read
Here are five descriptions of a resurrected being.

According to the scriptures and modern prophets, resurrected bodies are:

  1. Physical. That means flesh and bones (see Luke 24:36-39).
  2. Immortal. You can never get sick or die again (see Alma 11:45).
  3. Perfect. “The spirit and the body shall be reunited again in its perfect form” (Alma 11:43). “Deformity will be removed; defects will be eliminated, and men and women shall attain to the perfection of their spirits, to the perfection that God designed in the beginning” (Joseph F. Smith, Gospel Doctrine, 5th ed. [1939], 23).
  4. Beautiful. President Lorenzo Snow said, “There is nothing more beautiful to look upon than a resurrected man or woman.”1
  5. Capable of receiving a fulness of joy. Celestial glory is only possible once you’re resurrected (see Doctrine and Covenants 93:33).
