Throughout the week, we’ll be exploring examples of different characters in the Nativity story. (There’s also a special section in the middle of the December For the Strength of Youth magazine that you should totally check out.)
Today let’s think about Mary’s courage!
An angel appeared to her and told her the plan—she would be the mother of Jesus Christ. Her response shows her willingness to accept God’s will: “Be it unto me according to thy word” (Luke 1:38).
How would she care for the baby, especially since she wasn’t married? What would her friends and family say? How could she teach this special child all He needed to know?
She didn’t have all those answers, but she bravely believed God would show her the way. Wow! Talk about faith.
