2017 Content Update

Many teachers and leaders of youth have asked, “What’s new?” Come, Follow Me has been updated for 2017 with the latest general conference talks, videos, and music from the Church. Teachers and youth can find the most recent content on the Gospel Library app and the Come, Follow Me website. Each monthly unit contains more learning outlines than can be taught in a month, and 146 of those outlines contain new or updated resources and learning activities. As teachers ponder the needs of their youth, they will find that older activity ideas taught in new ways to new learners will be just as effective as teaching new and updated activities.

Ongoing Teacher Development

Local units are encouraged to provide ongoing training to teachers of Come, Follow Me to review and reinforce the principles of teaching in the Savior’s way. Monthly teacher council meetings in wards and branches, Teaching in the Savior’s Way, and the “Getting Started” section on the Come, Follow Me website will serve as valuable resources. Teachers and leaders who are familiar with Come, Follow Me can also be helpful to recently called youth teachers.

Monthly Church Magazine Articles

Each month, you can find articles in the New Era and Liahona magazines that support the monthly topic in Come, Follow Me.

Don’t Forget!

Many ongoing resources are available to help teachers and leaders prepare to teach their youth. Teaching videos provide a variety of ways to engage youth in learning. These videos are available in the right-hand margins of lesson outlines and in the “Learning and Teaching Ideas” section of the website. Many of the lesson outlines in Come, Follow Me include links to the new Youth Activities website, which contains over 160 activity ideas and offers tips for planning effective activities based on the needs of the youth. In addition, a Come, Follow Me DVD containing videos for class use and for teacher training is available through distribution centers (new videos have not been added to the DVD). These videos can also be downloaded.
