This Month’s Theme: Personal Revelation
Hi, friends!
This month’s topic of revelation was intimidating for me. I squirm in Sunday School when the lesson is on revelation, because I feel like people always share stories of the Spirit telling them to do dramatic things, like quit their job and move across the country. To me, receiving revelation has always felt scary because I thought it meant big changes.
But as I prayerfully authored content for this month, I found a social media post from Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles that totally changed my mindset. He said: “Learning to seek and rely on the Spirit is a life skill, not just a temporary way to get through a crisis. As we seek the Holy Ghost, He will be a reliable, trustworthy, and beloved companion.”
I realized that God wants to guide me every day. Revelation can include an increase in testimony, a thought to serve someone, a feeling of God’s love, and, yes, sometimes even a prompting to move across the country.
I know God does want to speak to you. As we learn to hear the Spirit, we will be enlightened and filled with God’s love. His Spirit guides us each day, not only during the big decisions.
