What should we practice during teacher council meetings, and how should we do it?

Teaching in the Savior’s Way encourages teachers to include practice as part of teacher council meetings. The “Plan and invite” portion of the meetings gives teachers the opportunity to apply what they have discussed and receive feedback from each other. When teachers do this, their teaching is far more likely to improve. For example, if the teachers have discussed how to prepare to teach, they could take a few minutes during the meeting to prepare sample plans for their upcoming lessons, share them with each other, and give feedback. Or if teachers have learned about asking inspired questions, they might spend some time thinking of questions they could use in class and getting each other’s advice on their questions. Other ideas for practicing can be found throughout Teaching in the Savior’s Way.
