Ruth; 1 Samuel 1–7

Ruth; 1 Samuel 1–7

Overview

The account of Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz is a story of redemption. It illustrates how the Savior can redeem us. Hannah gave us an example of humbly praying, as she petitioned God for a son. God answered her prayers. As Hannah’s son, Samuel, grew up, he heard a voice. With the help of Eli, the priest, Samuel recognized it as the voice of the Lord.

As students feel your love, they can be more comfortable in class and open their hearts to the impressions of the Holy Ghost. The Savior was the perfect example of showing love. To learn more, see “The Savior Expressed His Love for Those He Taught” in Teaching in the Savior’s Way. To practice one way of appropriately expressing love, see the training “Send a message to a student’s parent about something positive you have noticed about their child” in Teacher Development Skills.
