JustServe: Specialist Quick Start Guide
The purpose of JustServe is to help individuals, families, and groups to find opportunities near their homes to help those in need and improve the quality of life in their communities.
Getting started
Get Trained
Review the JustServe Community Service Guidebook and contact your coordinating council or area JustServe specialist to receive training.
Ask Questions
Talk with the previous JustServe specialist, members of the JustServe working group and priesthood leaders.
Use JustServe.org
Look at and register on the website, learn how it works and how it is used to connect volunteers with volunteer opportunities. Download the JustServe app to your mobile device.
Identify Potential Community Organizations
Contact organizations and invite them to post their volunteer needs on JustServe.org . Help them to post current projects so volunteers can become aware and involved.
Connect with Church Leaders
Coordinate with the stake Relief Society president and mission JustServe specialist to connect members and missionaries with community needs and service opportunities.

Tips for getting started in your calling

Get acquainted with the JustServe Community Service Guidebook, Blessings to the Stake, Blessings to the Mission and Gift to the Community.

Meet with your coordinating council or area JustServe specialist. You will receive training and get answers to your questions. As part of your calling, you will have administrative rights within the Church and civic boundaries you serve in on JustServe.org .

Meet with the previous specialist. Learn about the stake JustServe goals, partner organizations involved, member/missionary involvement, and current projects. Connect with your stake JustServe working group. If there is no working group, work with your stake leaders to set one up.

Work with community organizations

Develop and practice a conversation to introduce JustServe to potential community partners. (See Guidebook for tips).

Introduce yourself to nonprofit, faith-based, community, and governmental organizations which utilize volunteers within your area of responsibility.

Establish and maintain good relationships with organizations who have used JustServe in the past.

Work with your Church communication director for a budget to order needed promotional materials (JustServe.org/resources).
Connect with Church leaders

Introduce yourself to the stake Relief Society president. Learn how members use JustServe. Offer to assist in building awareness with leaders and members.

Through zone leaders or the mission JustServe specialist, learn where the missionaries in the stake are doing community service. Offer to help them find more and better community service opportunities.
Promote awareness of JustServe

Find out what social media platforms have been used to spread awareness of JustServe.
