Light the World: Serving, Sharing, and Giving

“I am the light of the world: He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12).

This Christmas season, you can share the light of Jesus Christ with everyone around you—your family, your friends, and your community. Join the Light the World initiative, and share Christ’s light throughout December.

Start by watching this video, where children tell the story of the Savior’s birth, and consider sharing it.

Next, visit LightTheWorld.org. There you’ll find many resources to help you share Christ’s light, including:

In his general conference message “The Light and Life of the World,” President Dallin H. Oaks said, “Jesus Christ is … the light of the world because his power persuades us to do good.” As you do good this season, recognize the light that comes from worshipping Jesus Christ. Consider inviting those around you to worship with you at church.

The Light the World initiative is unique throughout different areas of the world. Local Church leaders in your area will adapt the initiative to the needs of your specific area.
