“1 Nephi 11–15: Overview” Book of Mormon Teacher Manual

1 Nephi 11–15

Overview

As Nephi conversed with heavenly messengers, he had a vision of the Savior of the world and received his own understanding of what brings the most joy: God’s love. After being shown in a vision the eventual apostasy and destruction of his people, he saw that a great and abominable church would corrupt the teachings of the Bible and fight against the Saints of God. However, he also saw that the gospel would be restored, blessing all who would embrace the Savior’s teachings and covenants. Nephi saw the events of the Restoration long before they happened and understood the important role that his record would play in the Restoration.
