3. Learn more about the search for truth

The source of eternal truth is God Himself. He has given you truth through the scriptures and through latter-day prophets. By seeking reliable sources and relying on the Spirit, you can discern what is true, what is important, and what will lead you back to God.

Here are some questions and learning activities you could try:

Where does truth come from?

Truth comes from God. You can always trust Him. Study Matthew 3:17; John 3:16–17; Romans 8:16–17; Mosiah 4:9; Doctrine and Covenants 1:37–38; and Moses 1:39, looking for some important truths that God has revealed. Talk about how your life is different because you know these truths.
What if you have questions?

Sometimes we have questions, and questions can lead to inspired answers—especially if we seek answers in reliable sources and exercise faith in Jesus Christ. As a young man, Joseph Smith felt confused as he sought answers to his spiritual questions. Read Joseph Smith—History 1:5–6, 10–13. What do you learn from his example of seeking answers to his questions?
Why do you have to keep learning?

Read 2 Nephi 28:26–30 and Doctrine and Covenants 93:11–13. Consider what these verses teach about learning and receiving divine truth.

Draw or trace something that reminds you of eternal truth, like a picture of the Savior or the temple. Note how your drawing begins to take shape “line upon line.” Share with each other how your testimony has grown “grace to grace” and “line upon line.”
