Help for the Hard Days
Life doesn’t always go the way we hope it will. We all love days filled with celebration and joy, but some days are filled with disappointment. In this issue, you’ll find help for those days (see pages 8, 14, and 22).
One of my favorite scriptures contains a piece of advice and a promise for the hard days. It reads, “Be patient in afflictions, for thou shalt have many; but endure them, for, lo, I am with thee, even unto the end of thy days” (Doctrine and Covenants 24:8). The advice is to endure.
At its root, endure means to remain firm within. That can be hard to do, which is why I love the promise “I am with thee.” That promise means we don’t have to get through the hard days alone. The Lord will help us remain firm within.
No matter what is happening in our lives, the best way to connect with the Father is to pray. He is really there. He will hear and answer our prayers. God hears and speaks to His children on good days and on bad days (see page 2). He has promised to be with us.
With love,
