Help from a Perfect Source
No matter what struggles you’re up against, Jesus Christ will help you as you turn to Him.
The Pattern, by Jeanette Bourup
At one time or another we all need a little help. Sometimes a lot of help. The truth is, life usually goes a whole lot better when you don’t try to go it alone.
Jesus Christ is your perfect source of help, hope, and strength. He can also help change you for the better—maybe even in ways you didn’t think possible.
A Change of Heart
Have you ever prayed that God would soften the hearts of your enemies? If so, you’re in good company (see 3 Nephi 12:44; Moroni 7:48). Even if you don’t have enemies in that same Book of Mormon sense (you know, enemies armed with weapons and ready to attack), you’ve probably prayed that God would soften the heart of somebody who wasn’t treating you nicely.
But have you ever thought to pray and ask God to soften your heart? Maybe you’re having a hard time forgiving somebody. Or you keep losing your temper, even though you don’t want to. Or you want to feel more kindness toward your siblings despite the fact that they annoy you sometimes.
“[Jesus Christ] will change your heart and your life. Little by little, you will grow and become more like Him. Your covenant connection with Him will bring you greater access to His power” (For the Strength of Youth: A Guide for Making Choices [2022], 8, emphasis added).
Isn’t that a great promise? No matter what you’re struggling with, even your own heart, Jesus Christ can help. How can you turn to Him today?
