Coming Closer to God
“With all my heart, might, mind, and strength, I will love God, and keep my covenants.”
My brother was the first member of my family to join the Church. He is a great example to me. A few years after he was baptized, my whole family started listening to the missionaries. I decided to join the Church because I know that Jesus Christ is real and this is His true Church. After I was baptized, it felt like I was reborn into a new life. I promised God I would keep His commandments. If we want to go back to Heavenly Father, we need to obey His commandments.
The Holy Ghost helps us keep the commandments, like obeying our parents. I like to go biking with my friends. My parents tell me not to go too far, but my friends like to go on long rides. One time my friends invited me to go on a long ride, but I felt that I shouldn’t go. My friends left on their ride and one of them got hurt. He was eventually OK, but I was glad I listened to the Spirit and obeyed my parents.
I try to feel close to God every day. The scriptures help motivate me to do what’s right. My family tries to pray together every day. I also love to paint and sketch. I like to draw the Savior. I want Him to always be with me.
I know my Heavenly Father loves me, and I love Him. Because Heavenly Father has blessed me so much, I want to go on a mission. I want to teach others about Heavenly Father and what He does for us.
We can feel happiness from the gospel, and we can also share it with others.
