Make a paper lantern to remind you that God’s word can light your way!

You need glue, scissors, and two rectangular pieces of paper (one slightly wider than the other).

  1. Fold the bigger paper in half longways.

  2. Cut lines along the fold about 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart, leaving a little space at the end.

  3. Put glue on one end of the smaller paper.

  4. Roll the paper into a cylinder and glue the ends together.

  5. Unfold the bigger paper and put glue along the long edges.

  6. Glue the bigger paper around the cylinder.

  7. Cut an extra strip of paper for the handle.

  8. Glue each end of the handle onto your lantern.

Jesus Christ Protects Us

Song: “How Firm a Foundation” (Hymns, no. 85)

Scripture: Isaiah 25:4

Activity: Jesus Christ is a refuge from storms. That means He can comfort and protect us when things are hard. Build a fort out of blankets and pillows. Pretend like your fort is a safe place during a storm! Bring in some things that help you feel safe, like a favorite blanket and your scriptures. While you sit in your fort, talk about what it means for Jesus Christ to be refuge from a storm. How does He comfort and protect you?
