Your Powerful Example
When I was a stake president in Brazil, I was very busy. One day, I came home late at night. There were many things on my mind. I decided that I would tell my kids that I was very tired and then go straight to bed.
When I went to tell my kids goodnight, I saw them waiting in their room, kneeling on the floor. They had decided to wait for me to say a prayer with them before they went to bed. Their example touched my heart, and I kneeled with them. We prayed together.
You have the power to touch the lives of those around you! Please, be good examples to your parents by following Jesus Christ. Pray, read the scriptures, and invite your parents to do these things with you. You can even invite them to go to church with you. I have also seen the impact my children have had on their friends just by inviting them. You can make all the difference by being a good example!
Being an Example
Get a group of friends or family together and play this example game!
Choose one person to pick a movement for everyone else to copy. Take turns being the example and picking the movement.
For a musical twist, sing “Do As I’m Doing” (Children’s Songbook, 276) or another Primary song as you play.
Invite a Friend
Think of a friend you want to invite to Primary or a Primary activity. Write the information they’ll need in the space below. Cut out the invitation and fold it, then give it to your friend!
