Colombia is in the northwest part of South America. More than 50 million people live there! The official language of Colombia is Spanish.
Pink Dolphins
The Amazon pink river dolphin can change color! They are born gray and then can become pink as they get older.
The Lost City
La Ciudad Perdida (“the Lost City”) is an old town where people used to live about 1,225 years ago. It is deep within the rainforests of Colombia.
Cheese in Chocolate
A favorite treat in Colombia is hot chocolate with melted cheese in it.
River Rainbows
Caño Cristales is a river known as the “liquid rainbow” or the “river of five colors.” It has many colorful plants on the riverbed.
Rainforest
About half of Colombia is covered in rainforest. The two biggest rainforests in the country are the Amazon and the Chocó.
