Peppermint Ice Cream

“Peppermint Ice Cream,” Friend, Aug. 1990, 45

Peppermint Ice Cream

By Mary Ann Chadwick

This morning I awoke with a yawn and a sigh,

Then found peppermint ice cream adrift in the sky.

Delicate pink swirled in clouds of pure white—

Big billowy scoops of delicious delight.

But as the sun crept up to wink at the day,

The ice cream all melted and wafted away.
