“No-Bake Strawberry Shortcake,” Friend, June 1990, 32
8 slices bread
4 cups strawberries
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups whipped cream
Remove the crusts from the bread.
Place four slices of bread in the bottom of a baking dish.
Mash the strawberries and stir in the sugar.
Spoon half the strawberry mixture over the bread. Spread half the whipped cream on top.
Repeat steps two and four with the remaining bread, strawberries, and whipped cream. Refrigerate for one hour. Cut the dessert into squares, then serve it.
