1 Timothy 4:10–16

Lead by Example

Timothy may have been relatively young when he was called to be a Church leader, but Paul reassured Timothy that if he would be “an example of the believers” (1 Timothy 4:12), he could be a powerful force in leading others to Christ.

Articles

  • Be Thou an Example of the Believers.” In this general conference address, President Russell M. Nelson, then a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, admonishes us to help spread the gospel by being examples of believers in Christ.

  • Blessed by Example.” In this New Era article, Elder O. Vincent Haleck, now an emeritus General Authority Seventy, shares how his friends’ good examples led him to join the Church.

To help strengthen Timothy, Paul counseled him to remember the gifts and power of God and not to fear.

Forgive One Another

In his letter to Philemon, Paul teaches that true followers of Christ are willing to forgive others and embrace them in Christlike love.
