“When Joseph had taken the [Savior’s] body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

“And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock” (Matthew 27:59–60).

The Lord’s body lay in the tomb for three days, and then He rose from the dead. Jesus Christ was the first person on earth to be resurrected. Through His Atonement all people will be resurrected (see 1 Corinthians 15:3–4, 20–22).
