Nauvoo Visitors' Center Exhibit
The visitors’ center is a great place to start your visit to Historic Nauvoo. The visitors’ center has orientation services, visitor amenities, and the exhibition “Nauvoo: Cornerstone of Zion.” There are also two theaters for films and live shows, as well as offices. Many of the displays are interactive and great for little children. Dedicated in 1971, the north visitors’ center continues to play a key role in orienting guests as they begin their visit to Historic Nauvoo.


What to Expect


The Historic Nauvoo North Visitors’ Center is a self-directed experience. It provides an orientation to Nauvoo with digital orientation tables, exhibits, brochures, and missionaries stationed at the welcome desk. Additional exhibits and orientation services are available at the Historic Nauvoo South Visitors’ Center.

Parking

  • There is parking available in two lots on the east and west sides of the visitors’ center off Partridge Street and Main Street.
    • There are designated accessible parking spaces in both lots.

Mobility Accessibility


Exterior

  • Stairless entry into the building from both entrances
  • Curb-cuts from the parking lots to the entrances

Interior

  • The lobby, exhibit space, and visitor amenities are all located on the first floor only.
  • The theaters have no-step entry and wheelchair spaces on the ground level.
  • The second floor is restricted to employee and missionary access only. However, there is an elevator in addition to two staircases to the mezzanine level on the second floor.

In the Historic Nauvoo North Visitors’ Center, the East Theater can be reserved as a group gathering space. Learn more about what this area has to offer below. A request to reserve this area can be made by submitting a Group Reservation Request. This form does not guarantee a reservation; please wait for a missionary to contact you after your request to verify availability.
