A HISTORY OF THE CHURCH
In 1984, the Church of Jesus Christ, sometimes also known as the Church of Jesus Christ in Zion, was established. First Elder of the Church was Ken Asay. The Second Elder of the Church was David Bradley Eyre.
Unlike many churches today, the Church of Jesus Christ in Zion works closely with other denominations. Rather than trying to convince people to leave their Christian Church or their Christian faith, the mission of the Church in Zion is to help people live their religion, to become the best they can be, to look for the further light and knowledge which God promised to send to all who seek earnestly and who live worthily.
The Church is not a formal organization but rather individual families organized as units, presided over by a father or a family patriarch. The Church of Jesus Christ, then, is not a Church organization as is the conventional model of our day. Rather, the Church is a concept or a life plan by which individual families may find encouragement and support in their personal and individual walk back to the presence of our Father in Heaven.
Countless numbers of families have been encouraged, blessed, and helped in their search for God, their search for faith, and their search for love by those that believe in Jesus Christ and the dream that He will one day return to the earth.
In 1985, David Bradley Eyre assumed the responsibilities as First Elder of the Church, a post he continues to hold to this day.
