Book of Mormon and Me: Hyrum’s Favorite Story
Seminary students around the world are gearing up for the next course of study: the Book of Mormon. Throughout the year, Seminaries and Institutes of Religion will feature youth sharing their experiences reading the Book of Mormon. Keep a lookout for more videos coming out this year!
You can participate too! Share your personal stories about the Book of Mormon on your local seminary Facebook pages or on the LDS Seminary Facebook page. You can also email your stories to firstname.lastname@example.org or post your experiences on social media using the hashtag #BookofMormonandMe. To get started, think about the following questions:
- What is your favorite story from the Book of Mormon, and why?
- Who is your favorite prophet in the Book of Mormon?
- Has a particular story in the Book of Mormon helped you through a difficult time?
- Which chapter or verse speaks to you personally?
As you study the Book of Mormon on your own and in your class, remember the promises President Thomas S. Monson made when he spoke about the Book of Mormon.
“I implore each of us to prayerfully study and ponder the Book of Mormon each day,” he said. “As we do so, we will be in a position to hear the voice of the Spirit, to resist temptation, to overcome doubt and fear, and to receive heaven’s help in our lives” (“The Power of the Book of Mormon,” Apr. 2017 general conference).
