Add a QR Code to Your Invitation or Banner

With some extra steps, you can also add a QR code for your ward activity web page to your invitation materials.

Placing a QR code for your ward web page on your invitation materials is an easy way to share other Christmas activities and events happening in your ward.

First, create and download the invitation banner or card.

Next, download the QR code. Go to the ward web page using one of the options below.

  • Member Tools App: Click on the Activity Sharing tile on your home screen. (Don’t see it? Press and hold any tile, select “Add Tiles,” then “Activity Sharing.”)
  • Meetinghouse Locator: Go to maps.churchofjesuschrist.org, search your ward name, then click the Activity Sharing link.

Click the Share button, then QR Code and Download. Save the QR code.

Then, add the QR code to your banner or invitation:

  • Use a PDF editor like Canva.com. Sign up if you don’t have an account.
  • Select Create > Upload (or find the ‘Upload’ button in the quick actions) and upload your banner or card.
  • Select Create > Upload again and upload your QR code image.
  • Open your invitation file from Uploads. Go again to Uploads and drag the QR code image onto your banner. Resize it and move it as necessary.

Download the file, and you are ready to print!
If you have multiple wards in your building, select one page and QR code to include.

Guidelines for Displaying Signs Outside Church Meetinghouses

In the weeks leading up to Easter and Christmas, consider whether displaying large signs outside your meetinghouse would be an effective way to invite the community to worship with us on these religious holidays. You may download pre-made designs and customize them to add your local worship times. Leaders should use local unit funds to print and display these signs.

Please consider the following as you print and install the banners:

  • Do not attach signs to the meetinghouse.
  • Do not attach signs in a way that causes permanent damage to structures (fences, posts, etc.).
  • Consider local signage ordinances as applicable.
  • Ensure a passerby can easily read the sign. The farther away from the street the sign is placed, the larger the sign will need to be.
  • Local printing agencies may be able to help with determining the appropriate size for where the sign will be placed.
  • Maximum sign size should be 2.5 feet x 7 feet (0.76 meters x 2.13 meters).
  • Please ensure that your signs meet local and government standards and regulations.
  • The banners should not be displayed on temple property, even if the temple shares a space or fence with a meetinghouse.

To ensure that displaying signage outside meetinghouses is not overused, please reserve these types of communications for only Easter and Christmas.
