Erasing Signatures to Change Corrective Actions or Audit Results

Overview

Stake auditors, bishops, stake audit committee chairmen and members, and stake presidents have distinct responsibilities when performing, completing, and submitting an audit. As each completes their responsibilities, they sign the audit. Marking the appropriate review completion checkbox certifies that the reviewer has fulfilled their responsibility up to that point and will fulfill any subsequent responsibilities. Marking the review completion checkbox also secures their work so that it cannot be modified.

For example, the stake auditor’s signature certifies that they have answered all audit questions, entered an explanation for each audit exception, and reviewed all audit exceptions with the unit leader and the clerk for finances. Once they have signed the audit, they can edit their comments, corrective actions, and explanations, but cannot erase their signature. If the auditor attempts to change the answer to an auditing question after others have signed the audit, they will be prompted to provide a response as to why they are changing the answer. Then anyone who has already signed the audit will need to sign again. Once the audit has been signed by the stake president for ward audits and the stake audit committee chairman for the stake audit, the audit is locked and will be indicated as such at the top of the audit. No further changes can be made to explanations and corrective actions. Comments may continue to be made.

Review progress is displayed at the bottom of the Audit Review Summary section. In addition, audit progress can be displayed on the dashboard at the stake level.
