Oaks of the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his wife, Kristen, enter the Mesa Arizona Temple to look at the renovation on Saturday, December 11, 2021. They were joined by Elder Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and Elder Paul B. Pieper, a General Authority Seventy, and their wives.

    Open House Announced for the Rio de Janeiro Brazil Temple

    The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released the dates of the open house for the Rio de Janeiro Brazil Temple.

    The public is invited to tour the temple from Saturday, March 26, 2022, through Saturday, April 16, 2022, except for March 27 and April 2, 3, and 10, 2022.

    Temple Cafeterias Will Permanently Close in Early 2022

    After careful consideration, and to simplify temple operations, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will permanently close the cafeterias inside its temples in early 2022. The Guayaquil Ecuador and Hamilton New Zealand Temples will require a longer transition period. Cafeterias that are currently closed due to the pandemic will not reopen.

This promise was realized on October 31, 2021, as the Winnipeg Manitoba Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was dedicated in three sessions by Elder Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

    Renovated Mesa Arizona Temple Opens to the Public This Week

    The Mesa Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been closed since May 2018 for major renovation. This is its second major refurbishment in its 94-year history. It was originally dedicated by Church President Heber J. Grant.
