This Month’s Theme: The Temple and Covenants
Hello, friends!
Here on the YA Weekly team, we’ve been talking about temples a lot lately.
So has the Liahona team. And the For the Strength of Youth team. And the Friend team.
OK, it’s pretty much everyone.
We’re all excited to see the Lord hastening His work! Inspired adjustments in temple worship have made it easier than ever to attend. Youth are doing proxy baptisms in record numbers. People are making and keeping sacred covenants with God.
And maybe it’s just me, but it feels like Church members are feeling more connected to the temple. More fond of it. More eager to attend.
That could be because so many more Church members live close to a temple now than, say, 10 years ago. But I like to think it’s also because we’re catching on to the Lord’s vision. We’re starting to see more fully how living the covenants we make in the temple can enrich our day-to-day lives and deepen our relationship with God. Our testimonies are growing!
Here are stories this month about the power and blessings of the house of the Lord:
-
How you can progress on the covenant path when you feel stagnant as a young single adult
-
A young adult from Ecuador who found that an endowment session in her native language could help her overcome the culture shock of a new home
-
An explanation of how the covenants we make today are found in the Old Testament
-
How to live as though you have made covenants if distance prevents you from making them
And from our ongoing series:
-
Life Skills: How to be a peacemaker online, even when the world makes it very difficult
-
Especially for Newlyweds: Why going to institute might just be one of the best things to do with your spouse
-
Featured Devotional: A message from Elder Dale G. Renlund about how our covenants deepen our relationship with Heavenly Father
If you haven’t been to the temple very much, if you’re preparing to return after a period of absence, or if you don’t understand everything, don’t let that stop you from going back. It’s OK to not feel like an expert. It’s OK to not immediately understand everything. Even people who have been going for decades will tell you they’re still discovering new insights about the temple and its covenants.
Regardless of how many times you’ve been to the temple, we hope these articles will help you find new ways to appreciate and benefit from spending time in the house of the Lord.
