This Month’s Theme: Navigating Family Relationships with the Savior’s Help
Hi, friends.
How do you feel when you think of your family? I immediately feel a sense of goodness—I think of inside jokes, warm hugs, comfort, and love.
However, sometimes memories with my family bring up some not-so-fun emotions, like grief, hurt, resentment, or anger.
I come from a family that has experienced days filled with laughter and joy, and long nights filled with issues from misunderstandings to the repercussions of addiction.
However, few things on this earth have taught me as much about the Savior and His influence than my family relationships. Through all the ups and downs of family life, I have learned so much from my family members, especially when I have relied on my Savior to help me forgive, to empathize, and to love as He does.
Sister Tamara W. Runia, First Counselor in the Young Women General Presidency, recently taught, “While our families aren’t perfect, we can perfect our love for others until it becomes a constant, unchanging, no-matter-what kind of love—the type of love that supports change and allows for growth and return.”
I have seen this type of love—the Savior’s love—change my life and the lives of those I love most.
