I Believe in Christ

A testimony of Christ is a wonderful gift to receive—and a beautiful gift to share.

Christmas is a time of joy for many reasons. It’s a time to be thankful for the blessings and traditions you enjoy with people who are important to you. It’s also a time to celebrate the blessings of the gospel and its teachings. Most important, though, it’s a time to celebrate and reflect on the birth of the Savior. Christmas is the perfect time to think about your testimony of Jesus Christ.

In the latter days, many prophets and leaders have shared their testimonies with the world. An especially powerful witness of Christ was given in February 1832, by Joseph Smith and Sydney Rigdon:

“And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives! For we saw him, standing on the right hand of God; and we heard the voice bearing record that he is the Only Begotten of the Father—That by him, and through him, and of him, the worlds are and were created, and the inhabitants thereof are begotten sons and daughters unto God” (D&C 76:22–24).

Since the time those words were spoken, many others have come to know Christ and gain a testimony of his love, his life, his atonement, and the restoration of his gospel. On the following pages, youth from around the world share the greatest gift they can give: their testimony of the Savior.

“I have a testimony of the Savior, which is very simple, yet sincere. I know that Jesus Christ loves me so much that he willingly suffered and died for me so that I might someday return to Heavenly Father. I often, if not always, feel some of the love Jesus has for me, and that is a comforting feeling. My faith in the Savior gives me immeasurable hope, peace, strength, and joy and helps me strive to be like him every day.”

—Kimberly Cook, Roanoke, Virginia

“I have a profound testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ. I know that he lives and that he loves us. Each moment that we live is proof of the love our Savior Jesus Christ has for us. Each day I do my best not to disappoint him. I want to make him happy and proud of me.”

—Makalani Tinirauarii, Papeete, Tahiti

“At this season of Christmas, I am able to comprehend many things about Jesus Christ. I ponder his life and try to think about the many things he has been through. My testimony grows because I know he will always be there for me, and his love will always support me. If I face challenges in my life, I just think about him and what he would do and how I would act if he were standing there with me. As I grow in the gospel, I realize how much I am loved by both Heavenly Father and Jesus.”

—Sister Simone Ramsay, serving in the California Oakland Mission, from Georgetown, Guyana

“I know Jesus Christ died for us and that he hears my prayers.”

—Roussel Cabrera, Muscat, Oman

“I know that Christ died so we can be forgiven of our sins.”

—Roxanne Cabrera, Muscat, Oman

“I feel that no matter what the situation, there will be one who understands me. I feel the Savior’s love every time I come to church, and that is enough to keep me strong forever.”

—Adrean Owen, Denton, Texas

“I feel that the Savior has done a lot for us. He atoned for our sins and gave us the ability to repent. He died on the cross and made it possible to live with our Heavenly Father again. It makes me feel good inside whenever I hear someone talk about the Savior.”

—Kenny Robertson, Las Vegas, Nevada

“I wanted a testimony of Christ and his church, so I decided to pray. Days went by and I had a sudden feeling … a feeling of sureness that the gospel is true. I felt so relieved and so happy that Heavenly Father had answered my prayer.”

—Christine Tabernilla, Muscat, Oman

“Before becoming a member of the Church I didn’t really know what it was to have a testimony of Jesus Christ. That really changed when I met the missionaries. When I asked for a testimony of him, I felt that Jesus Christ really is my Savior and he has helped in many things in the plan for all of us.”

—Aliro Pacheco Munoz, Las Americas, Chile

“I know that Jesus Christ is the son of God. If we believe in him and do as he has taught, we will live forever in the celestial kingdom with him.”

—Edward Fraim, Denton, Texas

“I have a testimony of the Savior. He has done so much for me. Sometimes I feel alone and sad, but then I remember that he is always there.”

—Crissy Cartwright, Sandy, Utah

“We know and love Jesus Christ, our Savior and friend, who died for us, that we may return to our Father in Heaven one day, if we follow his plan.”

—Jennifer Gravell, Beth Irwin, Joanna Durham, Teresa Janeway, Katie Knecht, and Kara DeMott, Chino, California

“I know Jesus Christ died so we can live with Heavenly Father again someday.”

—Zack Rucker, Las Vegas, Nevada
