The Aaronic Priesthood:
For a Sacred and Glorious Purpose

What does the priesthood mean to you?

What difference does the Aaronic Priesthood make in your life? As a priesthood holder, is it just passing or blessing the sacrament on Sunday, or does it carry more significance than that? As a young woman, what does the priesthood mean to you? How does the priesthood influence and bless your life?

In this special issue of the New Era, we commemorate the restoration of the Aaronic Priesthood by providing information and insights for deacons, teachers, and priests, and for those who benefit from their service.

As President Ezra Taft Benson said to Aaronic Priesthood holders, “You have been born at this time for a sacred and glorious purpose. It is not by chance that you have been reserved to come to earth in this last dispensation of the fulness of times. Your birth at this particular time was foreordained in the eternities” (Ensign, May 1986, p. 43).

To find out what the Aaronic Priesthood can mean in your life and the lives of others, turn the page and keep reading.

“I confer the Priesthood of Aaron, which holds the keys of the ministering of angels, and of the gospel of repentance, and of baptism by immersion for the remission of sins” (D&C 13).
