Winners: The 1982 New Era Contest

Last September we asked you to freeze your talents, experience, and inspiration into a delicious treat for New Era readers. You responded with a freezer full of creamy, homemade flavors that really made our mouths water. They not only tasted good, but felt good inside. They taught us and inspired us and lifted us.

In this issue we’re going to share some of these delicious flavors with our readers. We think you’ll find them all a refreshing treat on a hot summer day (or cold winter night for our friends in the southern hemisphere). Feel free to indulge to your heart’s content. They’re all high in gospel vitamins, and they’re nonfattening. The more you consume, the more you’ll want, and you’ll finish the last yummy bite long before you’ve had enough. That’s why we’ll be surprising you with more of these new flavors all year long.

These desserts are so sweet to the taste because they derive from your faith in the Creator of all good things. Among the exquisite flavorings they contain, you will find young people spinning madly in a carnival centrifuge, a young woman struggling for a personal testimony, the joy and anguish of family life, memories of I-know-you-saw-me smiles, charcoal sketches on crystal snow, the wonder of Christ’s nativity, a missionary far from home saying a last good-bye to a beloved convert, and a knight riding up in a broken-down Volkswagen with a cracked windshield.
