Places to Know


America is the land where the Jaredites went when they left the Tower of Babel. Lehi’s family left Jerusalem and went to America.


Babylon was a land near the promised land. An army from Babylon captured the Kingdom of Judah and made the people slaves.


Bethlehem was a city in the promised land. David grew up in Bethlehem.


Canaan was the land where Jacob lived. It was the promised land. Later the Israelites captured Canaan. Then they called it Israel.


Earth is the place where we live now. Jesus made the earth.


Egypt was the land where the Israelites were slaves. Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt.

Garden of Eden

The Garden of Eden was a beautiful garden with trees and flowers. Adam and Eve lived there before they ate fruit from the tree of good and evil.


Heaven is where Heavenly Father lives. We lived in heaven before we came to earth.


Israel was the land where the Israelites lived. It was the promised land. It was called Canaan before the Israelites captured it.


Jericho was a city in the promised land. Joshua and the Israelites captured Jericho.


Jerusalem was a city in the promised land. King Solomon built a temple in Jerusalem.

Jordan River

Joshua led the Israelites across the Jordan River into the promised land.

Kingdom of Israel

The Kingdom of Israel was the north part of the promised land. Ten tribes of Israel lived there.

Kingdom of Judah

The kingdom of Judah was the south part of the promised land. Two tribes of Israel lived there. They were called Jews.


Moab was the land where Naomi’s son married Ruth.

Mount Sinai

Mount Sinai was the mountain where Jesus gave the Ten Commandments to Moses.


Nineveh was a city where wicked people lived. God sent Jonah to tell them to repent.

Promised land

The promised land was the land God promised to Abraham’s family. Joshua led the Israelites into the promised land.

Red Sea

Moses led the Israelites through the Red Sea after they left Egypt.


Ur was a city where Abraham lived. Many people in Ur worshiped idols.


Zion was the city where Enoch was the prophet. God took all the people in Zion to heaven.
