Overview
Around 587 BC the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, destroyed the temple, and took many captive Jews to Babylon. Decades later, many Jews returned to Jerusalem and overcame difficulties to rebuild the temple and the walls around Jerusalem.
Pray for them by name. Praying for your students by name can help prepare you to receive inspiration to better help individuals in your class come closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Prepare to teach
The following information provides you with ideas of what you may need to prepare in advance for each lesson.
Ezra
Lesson purpose: To help students feel a greater desire to prepare to worship the Lord in His holy temple.

Student preparation: Invite students to make a list of both short- and long-term things they could do to prepare to worship the Lord in the temple. They could then consider how their preparation can affect their temple experience.

Nehemiah
Lesson purpose: To help students remain focused on the work Heavenly Father has given them to do.

Student preparation: Invite students to come to class with a list of three things that they feel Heavenly Father would have them focus on: one thing for this week, one for the next few years, and one for later in life. You might suggest that students who already have their patriarchal blessing read it again before creating their list.
