Genesis 6–11; Moses 8

Overview

The Lord called Noah to be a prophet at a time when the people were described as “being only evil continually” (Moses 8:22). Noah’s family was saved from an unprecedented, miraculous flood because they obeyed God’s commandment to build an ark.

Seek to know students—understand their circumstances, needs, and strengths. Students are more willing to learn from someone who they know cares about them. Additionally, when we strive to get to know students with love, we can be inspired about how to best help them find personal meaning and power in the Savior and His gospel. An example of how seeking to understand students can influence our teaching can be found in Lesson 19: “Moses 8.” To learn more, see “The Savior Knows Us and Understands Our Circumstances, Needs, and Strengths” (Teaching in the Savior’s Way [2022], 13).
