Chapter 14
Nicodemus
Nicodemus belonged to a group of Jews called Pharisees. He was also a ruler of the Jews. Many Pharisees did not believe that Jesus Christ was sent by God. But Nicodemus believed because of the miracles Jesus did.
John 3:1–2
Nicodemus came to talk with the Savior one night. Jesus told him that no one could enter the kingdom of God without being born again.
John 3:2–3
Nicodemus did not understand. How could a person be born again? The Savior explained that He was talking about spiritual things. To be born again, a person must be baptized in water and receive the Holy Ghost.
John 3:4–7
Jesus explained that He had been sent to earth to help us all return to Heavenly Father. He said that He would suffer for our sins and die on a cross so that we could have eternal life.
John 3:12–17
He said that we need to believe in Him and choose the right. If we do what is right, we will live forever in the kingdom of God.
John 3:18–21
