Using This Video

You could show this video segment when you arrive at the part of the lesson that states:

“Invite several students to take turns reading aloud from Alma 5:3–6. Ask the class to follow along, looking for events Alma emphasized as he began to teach the people.”

You could show this video segment instead of inviting several students to take turns reading from Alma 5:3–6. Display the following questions from the teacher material, and invite students to watch for the answers as they view the video segment:

“What events did Alma emphasize as he began to teach the people?”

“How might it have helped Alma’s people to hear the account of the bondage, deliverance, and conversion of Alma’s father and those who followed him?”

After showing the video segment, invite students to discuss their answers to the questions. Encourage them to mark in Alma 5:3–6 the events Alma emphasized as he began to teach the people. Then proceed with the lesson as outlined in the teacher material.
