One purpose of doctrinal mastery is to help you come unto Christ by increasing your understanding of gospel truths found in the scriptures. This lesson is intended to help you locate the 12 doctrinal mastery scripture passages in the second half of the Book of Mormon.

Scripture references and key scripture phrases

Imagine that a younger sibling notices you marking your scriptures as you study. After seeing the page with all the markings on it, your younger sibling asks you why you mark your scriptures.

  • How would you respond?

Use the following chart to help you locate the 12 doctrinal mastery passages found in the second half of the Book of Mormon. Consider marking them in a distinctive way so you can locate them more easily in the future. You might also consider marking the words in the key scripture phrases to make them stand out.

    • Any questions you have about words and phrases in the passages

Over the next few days, begin to memorize some scripture references and key scripture phrases, and look for answers to any questions you might have about what those scriptures teach. You might want to use the Doctrinal Mastery mobile app to help you (if available).
