What’s Happening in the Gathering Places?

Meet Thomas from the Asokore Mampong Stake in the Kumasi area. He took the electrical class at the gathering place and now is confident to fix his fan, repair sockets and many other simple repairs in his home. He enjoyed learning this skill and is deciding whether to further his education in this vocation.

Meet Charlene and Emmanuella, two sisters from the Bantama Stake in the Kumasi area. They bake bread under their label, “Bake Me,” and sell it. They were able to start this business because of what they learned at the gathering place. They continue to learn with their YSA friends and catering instructor, Josephine.

Meet Olivia. She runs her own footwear and clothing business and teaches the self-reliance classes at her gathering place. She recently added personally designed bracelets to her inventory. She loves to learn and is currently taking a baking class and looks forward to learning more skills with her friends at her gathering place in the Tema Stake in greater Accra.
