The Conqueror

Through life, as enemies aggress,

As tempests howl and foes molest,

Tho’ bruised and battered I may be,

Adversity won’t conquer me.

For silent strengths with me persist;

Knowing He whom Judas kissed,

The Babe, the Boy, the Son of Man,

The Prince of Peace, The Great I Am.

He healed the sick, He raised the dead,

Outcasts loved, five thousand fed.

He wept with them, then dried their tears,

Forgave their sins and calmed their fears.

He washed their feet and talked with them.

Loved them, held them, walked with them.

Through life’s hardest tests of faith,

The deepest hurt or worst mistake,

On bended knee, Gethsemane,

There He conquered sin for me.

And so, I won’t have need to fear

When loved ones lost will bring a tear,

Upon the cross at Calvary,

There He conquered death for me.

Tho’ He was dead, He rose again,

Our kindest, best, eternal friend.

So when I’m in my darkest place,

Regret and pain upon my face,

Because of all He did for me,

Who best to hold my hand, but He?

That’s why I’ll always do my part.

To Him I give my life, my heart;

He who gave His all for me,

That the conqueror I may be.
