Highlights from the 192nd Semiannual General Conference

Temple Square was peaceful during the 192nd Semiannual General Conference of the Church. The sounds of construction on the grounds and seismic retrofitting of the historic Salt Lake Temple paused.

But a different kind of peace filled our homes and hearts as we paused the sounds of the world to listen to living prophets and apostles.

“From this pulpit today and tomorrow, you will continue to hear truth,” President Russell M. Nelson taught with that characteristic twinkle in his eye. “Prayerfully ask the Lord to confirm that what you have heard is true” (see page 29).

Throughout the conference, speakers taught testimony-strengthening truths, including making and keeping sacred covenants (see pages 95 and 73), receiving personal revelation (see page 16), and discipleship (see page 77).

“As you make the continual strengthening of your testimony of Jesus Christ your highest priority,” President Nelson said, “watch for miracles to happen in your life” (see page 95).

After general conference concluded, work on the Salt Lake Temple began again. Work or preparations also began on the 125 temples around the world that are announced or under construction. This now includes 18 new temples that President Nelson announced in the last session of conference (see page 121).

“[The Lord] is making His temples more accessible,” President Nelson said. “He is accelerating the pace at which we are building temples. He is increasing our ability to help gather Israel” (see page 121).
