Progress on New Temples Continues

As local pandemic conditions improve, temples and associated open houses and dedications have once again started to move forward. The phased reopening of temples continues, adjusted when needed according to local conditions.

Open houses are underway for the temple in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, which will be dedicated on October 31, 2021, and for the temple in Pocatello, Idaho, USA, which will be dedicated on November 7, 2021.

The new Mesa Arizona Temple Visitors’ Center was dedicated in August 2021, and an open house for the temple will run from October 16 to November 20, with the rededication taking place on December 12.

A renovated Nauvoo Temple historical district in Illinois, USA, was dedicated, with additional phases to be added later.

An open house has been scheduled for the temple in Washington, D.C., USA, prior to its rededication on June 19, 2022.

In May of this year, a temple was announced for Ephraim, Utah, USA, and ground has been broken for temples in Salvador, Brazil; Nairobi, Kenya; Phnom Penh, Cambodia; Neiafu, Tonga; and Tallahassee, Florida; Tooele, Utah; Syracuse, Utah; Helena, Montana; and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.

Following general conference, ground was broken on October 9, 2021, for the temple in Casper, Wyoming, USA, and on October 30, 2021, for the temple in Pago Pago, American Samoa.

Renovations continue for temples in Hamilton, New Zealand; Hong Kong, China; Tokyo, Japan; Columbus, Ohio, USA; and Manti, Salt Lake City, and St. George, Utah, USA.

Construction continues on 40 additional temples around the world.
