Hello from Samoa

Talofa! (“Hi” in Samoan), we’re Margo and Paolo.

Join us as we visit Samoa!

Samoa is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean. It has two main islands and four smaller islands.

Here’s how to say “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints” in Samoan: O Le Ekalesia a Iesu Keriso o le Au Paia o Aso e Gata Ai.

Many people in Samoa live in fales, which are houses without walls. Cooking is done over a fire outside.

Coconuts are a popular food in Samoa. Everyone helps harvest them and remove the outer covering. The shells are often burned as fuel for cooking fires.

People in Samoa love to sing! These children are getting ready to sing in Primary.

Because they live on islands, Samoans are never far from the ocean.

Many people raise pigs and chickens and use dogs for hunting.

Meet some of our friends from Samoa!

I love to sing the Primary songs. My favorites are “Mother, Tell Me the Story” and “I Am a Child of God.”
