Episode 35: A Day of Trial

Elder Kyle S. McKay is a General Authority Seventy and assistant executive director of the Church History Department. In this episode Elder McKay explains the aftermath of the passage of the Edmunds-Tucker Act in 1887, including the disincorporation of the Church and Perpetual Emigrating Fund. Elder McKay also helps us understand why George Q. Cannon and other senior Church leaders went into hiding at this time.
