Ziba Peterson

(ca. 1810–49)

Ziba Peterson was born in New York. In 1830 he was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In June of that year, he was ordained an elder, and after being called by revelation (Doctrine and Covenants 32:3), he served a mission to Ohio and Missouri in 1830–1831. While living in Jackson County, Missouri, in August 1831, he was stripped of his priesthood office (Doctrine and Covenants 58:60). That same month, he married Rebecca Hopper. He was reordained an elder by Lyman Wight in October 1832 but was excommunicated in June 1833.
