What’s on Your Mind?

My brother just became a deacon and can pass the sacrament now. It made me wonder: what does the priesthood have to do with me as a girl?

Dear Wondering,

The priesthood is God’s power to bless and help all of His children on earth. That includes you! Boys and men can help others by serving in priesthood offices like deacon or bishop. And girls and women are given priesthood authority to serve in callings like class president in Young Women or Primary president or teacher.

Women and men are equally important in God’s plan. No matter who you are, you have a big work to do!

Here are some ways you could serve in the Church. What else can you think of?

Be in a Young Women class presidency
Be a witness for a baptism
Help in the temple baptistry
Go on a full-time mission
Be in a Young Women or Relief Society presidency
Serve as a temple worker
